Shimura Takafumi, a detective notorious for his obsessive dedication to punishing criminals by any means, finds himself demoted to a special investigation team tackling unsolved cases. His relentless pursuit of justice, often outside conventional boundaries, has made him a pariah within the force.
His world is upended when Kiriko, the elusive figure known only as Invisible – the underworld's legendary crime coordinator – makes an astonishing move. Having operated undetected for years, mediating illicit transactions and evading police detection, Kiriko suddenly offers to help law enforcement. She promises to provide vital intelligence on a slew of cold cases and violent criminals. Her shocking, non-negotiable condition? She will only work with Shimura Takafumi. This improbable alliance thrusts a disgraced detective into a dangerous partnership with the very heart of the criminal network he is sworn to dismantle, forcing both to navigate a treacherous path where the lines between justice and crime blur, and the true cost of their collaboration remains unseen.
