Don Ban Doi Poi Ban Thung unfolds as a heartwarming tale set against the breathtaking backdrop of two contrasting Thai villages. High above, nestled amidst serene peaks, lies Ban Doi, a community deeply rooted in ancient customs and the wisdom of the hills. Below, sprawling across lush, fertile fields, thrives Ban Thung, a village embracing modern agricultural practices and contemporary living.
Central to their intertwined destinies is "Don," a revered mound situated between them, and the vibrant "Poi" festival, an annual celebration that has historically brought both communities together. For generations, the festival has been a sacred thread, weaving their lives, traditions, and hopes into a shared tapestry. However, when a looming challenge threatens this delicate balance—be it environmental change, external pressure, or a fading memory of unity—the villagers from Ban Doi and Ban Thung must overcome their long-standing differences. Through a journey of rediscovery, shared struggles, and cultural exchange, they learn to appreciate their collective heritage and the enduring power of their unique bond. This film is a poignant exploration of community resilience, the beauty of tradition, and finding harmony amidst changing times.
