The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call centers on Baek Kang Hyuk, a genius trauma surgeon with vast experience from conflict zones worldwide. Confident in his abilities and possessing a bulldozer-like personality when convinced he is right, he joins a university hospital to lead its severe trauma team. This team, however, presents a significant dilemma: while they are highly effective at saving patients' lives, their success inadvertently pushes the hospital further into financial red, making them a double-edged sword.
Baek Kang Hyuk forms a dedicated unit, including Yang Jae Won, whom he scouts from another department and mentors as his first pupil, alongside Nurse Cheon Jang Mi and an anesthesiologist resident. Under his dynamic leadership, Baek Kang Hyuk transforms the severe trauma team from a mere nominal entity into a truly active force. They relentlessly go out into the field, confronting critical situations, and dedicating themselves to the tireless mission of saving lives.
