The Travel Nurse introduces Ayumi, a highly skilled former US nurse practitioner forced to return to Japan, where his advanced medical qualifications go unrecognized. Despite his impressive background in procedures and assisting surgeries, Ayumi’s initial interactions at Amano General Medical Centre create a poor impression. He finds himself partnered with the mysterious Shizuka, a quiet nurse often mistaken for a cleaner due to his unassuming presence.
However, Shizuka is secretly a legendary "super nurse" with astonishing abilities. Though he usually maintains a soft demeanor and doesn't openly defy doctors, Shizuka possesses a sharp wit and can take bold, decisive action with scathing words when crucial moments arise, all while hiding a significant secret. Ayumi and Shizuka, two fundamentally different types of unsung nurses, initially repel each other. Yet, they are compelled to collaborate, slowly initiating vital changes that impact not only their patients but also the rigid healthcare professionals within the hospital. Their unique skills and philosophies challenge the status quo, proving that true care transcends traditional roles.
