The Wanted Detective centers on Xiao Bei Ming, formerly the most skilled detective in Qi, who is unjustly accused of treason and murder. Forced to flee the capital, he spends three years as a wanted man. Upon his eventual return, Xiao Bei Ming does not seek solitude but instead joins forces with his trusted junior, Zhong Xue Man. Together, they assemble a diverse and capable team, including the witty and courageous partners Feng Qing Zhuo, Huo Dai Rong, Tong Shuang, and Zhuge Kong Yun.
This formidable group embarks on a mission to unravel a series of strange and challenging cases that have gripped the capital. As they delve deeper into each mystery, their investigations begin to reveal connections to a larger, more sinister plot known as the "Night Evil." Their ultimate goal is not only to solve individual crimes but also to uncover the full truth behind this malevolent force, calm the escalating turmoil within Qi, and protect the innocent people of the world from the looming threats they uncover.
