In Tang Dynasty Yangzhou, two young women embark on challenging marriages. Du Bingyan, a medicine hall maid, is set to wed the notoriously ill prodigal Qi Tianlei from Qi Mansion, a union fraught with uncertainty. Meanwhile, the spirited martial artist's daughter Li Yuhu is forced to marry the formidable bandit King Yuan, who kidnapped her father. Unknown to Li Yuhu, Yuan is secretly Yuan Buyue, an undercover trainee arrester investigating a complex case.
On their wedding day, a mountain temple fire causes the brides to mistakenly switch their sedan chairs. Li Yuhu unexpectedly arrives at Qi Mansion, engaging in a delightful battle of wits with the seemingly ailing Qi Tianlei. Simultaneously, Du Bingyan aligns with Yuan Buyue, working together to expose corruption and revitalize the Qi family's fortunes. This bizarre mix-up sparks two crisscrossing love stories, ultimately bringing together several loving couples amidst adventure and intrigue.
